The Laymans extension integrates with your browser to help you capture, organize, and transform web content into actionable legal resources—all synced with your Laymans account.

A free Laymans account is required to use the extension. All saved resources sync automatically with the main app.

Installation

Method 1: ZIP File (Recommended)

1. Download the extension ZIP file from extension.laymans.app
2. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/
3. Enable Developer Mode using the toggle in the top-right corner
4. Drag and drop the ZIP file onto the extensions page
5. Sign in with your Laymans account when prompted

Method 2: CRX File

1. Download the .crx file from extension.laymans.app
2. Open chrome://extensions/ in Chrome
3. Enable Developer Mode
4. Drag and drop the CRX file onto the page
5. Confirm the installation when prompted

Chrome Web Store

The extension will be available on the Chrome Web Store soon. For now, use direct installation methods above.

Getting Started

After installation:

1. Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar
2. Sign in with your Laymans credentials
3. Pin the extension for easy access (click the puzzle piece icon → pin)
4. Start capturing content from any webpage

Syncing with Laymans

All resources you capture sync automatically with your Laymans account:

• Saved pages appear in your Bookmarks
• Captured content can be added to Casefiles
• Resources are searchable in the main app

Troubleshooting

Extension not loading?

• Ensure Developer Mode is enabled
• Try removing and reinstalling the extension
• Clear browser cache and restart Chrome

Not syncing?

• Check your internet connection
• Verify you're signed into the same account
• Try signing out and back in
