How to apply to join a Movement on Laymans
Go to www.laymans.app
1. Introduction
Laymans is more than self-help, it's more than research, it's more than case building, it's a movement maker! We specialize in mobilizing small, individual problems into large scale resolutions -- for free. See for yourself:

2. Click Movements
First click Movements, on the Homepage, to see Movements matching your search.

3. About the Movement Subsection
In the Movements section, you can see quick summaries of the current actions matching your query. Tap through to see the relevant issues, problems, and goals. From here, you can choose to follow them and get updates -- or apply if you have a case. But, we're going to dive deeper by clicking on it.

4. About Movements
We overshot it a bit! But yes, this is the homepage for a Movement: The first thing you'll see is PDF summary of what this movement is for...

5. More about Movements
Along with the resources the Movement's curator aggregated for those who joined -- You can easily see that Movements are the composite of all Laymans has to offer: a strategic bundling of legal services, resources, educational materials, and funding to address a particular legal issue.

6. Why join a Movement?
There are class actions, and there are many convoluted ways to join and get paid by them. But what about the organizing that makes them? The petitions, protests, and collaboration that precedes a landmark case and its incredible payout. That's what Movements are about, they're a way for you or your lawyer to shape the mass litigation that could change your life -- before it gets rolling. In a Movement you can find many great resources, secured and anonymized for your use, to push your small claim forward and make a bigger impact.

7. Click "Join Movement"
But that only starts after you join and are accepted into a Movement. As, some movements are already underway, or may be already divvying out proceeds, so you might have to fill out a form...

8. The Movement Application
Despite hosting all the shared materials for the Movement, we do not facilitate the relationship. Given that a Movement could range from the start of a petition to the last checks of a financial trust, you, or your lawyer, have to meet the standards and agreements of the Movement's organizers to join. Once joined you can use their resources in your cases, communicate in their secure chat, and work with the organizer's company as a partner to your party.

9. Choose your case
Ergo, you have to have a case with us to start the process. Don't worry case building is easy, just check out the Create a Case Guide if you haven't already.

10. Review Attestation Requirements & Download Form
Once you've selected the case that the organizer will be reviewing . You will be offered the attestations, and/or form, you need to continue. For the application process, the organizer will be given a secured version of your case to review. Organizers working in litigation, or in anticipation of it, will include forms for you to fill -- which you will download now -- and return via email for their records. Review them to make sure that this is what you want and you accept the risks! While everyone involved will be doing their best to be on track with the law you should always be careful working with additional parties as it may change the rights, direction, and confidentiality of your case.

11. Agree to Participation Terms
Once you've read the attestations, filled out the downloaded forms -- if any -- and chosen a case to apply with, please click "I agree," to show a little good faith in the process, and accept the risks.

12. You can now click "Submit"
If you've interacted with everything, you can now hit "Submit" to be done with this part.

13. What Happens Next?
Firstly, if there were any files the next thing you must do is submit them via email -- don't forget! Then we wait. The company organizers will review your case shortly. They may ask for more questions via the email you sent. They may decide that your case really isn't a fit for their current legal action, and in that situation, feel free to follow them -- they may make their chat thread public -- or reapply with a different, stronger legal action. Lastly, you may get a notification that you've been accepted! After which you can come back to this page to interact with the rest of the movement and further organize from there. Good luck! We can't wait to see you make history.
