What is a LAYMANS Casefile? ​

1. Introduction ​
Casefiles are the beating heart of LAYMANS, the building blocks to cases, seminars, and mass actions. You'll see that they can contain many different expressions to move forward your efforts for legal change. Let's get started:

2. The Auto Player ​
On top of every resource you'll find the Auto Player, when you get to the end of a resource the app will attempt to to take you to the next relevant resource -- you can edit those options here. Below that is an icon of whether or not you've viewed this resource, you can mannually toggle it to yes. Also you'll see a notification if a casefile is private or public, you can make casefiles you want to use in your personal cases private while making casefiles you want to share with others public. Private casefiles are only visible to you and your legal servicers.

3. The Content ​
You'll find your main content here! Casefiles can contain Articles, Videos, Questions, Social Media Content, Links, Legal Citations, PDF Forms, or even Video conferences.

4. The Description ​
Here you can find a title, the creator's profile and some tags about the content.

5. LAYMANS tags ​
Laymans has a sophisticated autotagging system: when you upload content to Laymans to be casefiles used in cases or to help others -- our secure algorithms will attempt to determine the legal issue area and the legal value of the content. So you, and we, can better organize your materials for litigation and education

6. Now lets talk about the Action Bar ​
These five actions allow you to quickly interact with what you're seeing --

7. Actions: Bookmark ​
You can Bookmark files to be saved to your account, you can use bookmarked files in your educational materials and cases.

8. Actions: Salute ​
Show your support for a LAYMANS contributor by saluting their content. It's free! And, saluted content is more likely to be used in creating legal content for other laypeople, so salute only things that are useful, helpful, and accurate.

9. Action: Pledge ​
If a layperson's content was incredibly helpful make a pledge! If the layperson has ongoing legal action they need help financing your pledge will be contributed towards their legal action, pledges are a great way to pay it forward and push the legal action you would like to see in the world.

10. Action: Report ​
Keeping LAYMANS helpful and safe is up to all of us: Please report any content that is harmful, inaccurate, or abusive. User-moderators will review the content and assign the appropriate fix.

11. Action: Share ​
LAYMANS is inherently shareable, if something here helped you share the LAYMANS resource on social media, through email, or text to someone it could help outside of LAYMANS.

12. The Comment Section ​
Have something to add? Join the comment section! Comments on legal resources are there to share your personal experience, any tips, or even clarifications on resources. Legal Knowledge LAYMANS is a collaborative resource between those who lived the problem and those who solve them -- don't hesitate to add your two cents!
